Buy it, Use it, Don't Abuse it.

This unit has a strong motor and gets the job done. I like that the blender shaft and blades are stainless steel. The only problem I had with the unit is the gearbox that attaches the whisk to the motor. It says in the manual not to immerse it in water, which I missed. It trapped water, rusted inside, and now releases rusty water into the stuff I'm whisking. This is my fault because I didn't read the manual thoroughly, but I wish they had make the whisk one single cleanable unit the way the stick blender attachment is. I use the whisk a lot so I'm buying a replacement gear box: $8 for the gearbox and another $8 for expensive lesson! If you're wondering if you can use it to blend ice, or large chunks of solid-frozen fruit like whole strawberries, the answer is no. You will bust the little blades. If you're wondering if you can use it to make nut butter or heavy dough, the answer is no. You will burn out the motor.Use the stick attachment to blend smoothies containing fresh fruit or small, soft, frozen berries, and to puree soups, sauces and soft-cooked vegetables. Use the whisk attachment to whisk cream and egg whites, to froth milk, and to emulsify salad dressings and mayonnaise. Use the mini food-processor attachment to chop nuts or fresh or cooked vegetables. It's a good size for making a small batch of salsa or baby food. If you don't abuse it, it will serve you well and last a long time.

 Great product!

All I wanted was an immersion blender by itself. I already have a small food processor and a Nutribullet, so I didn't need a blender to come with all these fancy gadgets and attachments. I just needed something that would blend hot food so I could make soup! (Because ladling hot hot hot liquid into my small food processor or nutribullet made absolutely no sense to me). This was the only brand of immersion blender that was priced well, got decent reviews, and didn't come with a load of extras that I didn't need. I used this immediately after I received it to make potato leek soup and I am very happy with my purchase.

I liked that it was a Braun, but this product is not the way they used to be. Not as sturdy, no speed control with both speeds practically the same. Requires too much pressure to maintain power. I have arthritis in my hands and this product is impossible for me to use.

 It died.

This would have been 5 stars--love the blender--but a couple weeks short of a year, it just stopped dead. That's not acceptable.

Good Design, but weak plastic used in construction

Loved it at first. Braun has always been a solid brand for us, but both the bending and whisking attachments have broken within 2 years. The motorbody is solidly designed and powerful but the plastic used for the attachments is garbage. We have never dishwashed or abused the attachments. The bender attachment split within a year and the wisk attachment came apart a few months later. It has been used less than 15 times total and lived in a drawer otherwise.

 Died within about 6 months.

I was told this one was a good, durable product, but it just quit working within about six months. The shape of the bell was a bit awkward as well, and it would have difficulty with things that a cheaper hand blender did not.

The Magic Kitchen Tool - love it in stainless steel and black

Love this blender - it makes preparing soups a breeze. I had an earlier iteration of the Braun hand blender that was white plastic and this is definitely an upgrade in terms of how well the stainless steel part washes and how powerful it is. I also have a Vitamix but I find a hand blender indispensable!

 Light duty only.

I’ve been happy until tonight. I have a broken ganache sitting on my counter that I tried to bring back together using this blender. Apparently melted chocolate and cream is too much for this thing to handle. It’s so hot you can’t handle it and I’m pretty sure it’s going to start smoking. Yeah, the ganache is this I but it’s nowhere near solid, it’s still warm and a very typical ratio...apparently my hand blender thinks it’s concrete.Basically, this is only a light duty appliance for short bursts only. If you expect it to work for you, forget it. I’m not happy because I read a ton of reviews before purchasing and felt really good about this model. Now, I’m going to fix my ganache a different way no thanks to this piece of crap.

 Easy homemade baby food

Homemade baby food, smoothies, and other purees made easy.Attachments is soooo much easier to clean than a traditional blender (tired, working moms ain't got time for that). This one is quieter and more steady than other hand blenders. That makes it possible for me to food prep and make a bunch of baby food during naptime and after bedtime. Not so good at cutting through ice cubes. Frozen fruits and veggies should sit out to thaw a bit or have quite a bit of liquid added to actually blend. The plastic cup scratches and stains easily. I bouhht an easier to clean stainless steel milkshake cup.The whisk attachment was a bonus for me. It is more convenient than my regular hand mixer at mixing quiche filling, cake mix, whipped cream, and creaming butter and sugar for cookie dough. As a side note: In case anyone is interested in the food storage system in the picture, I use the Kindde bags and Kindde attachment spoons and spout. Kindle has been convenient and more affordable in the long term. I got the bags for pumping breastmilk with the Kindde bottle attachment. Then started using the same bags to start my baby on solids.I get recipe ideas from Pinterest. I also read baby food labels at the grocery store to get ideas for flavors and ingredients. I barely need store bought baby food. I just have a handful of jars in my pantry for emergencies. I just stockpile frozen bags of pureed food and thaw what I need the next day by either putting what I need in the fridge or using my bottle warmer. If traveling, I keep bags cool with a lunchbox and some ice packs. I thaw/warm items by dipping in a cup hot water that I keep in a thermos or get from a coffeshop/restaurant/gas station.
